Average CTR

Average CTR is total clicks divided by total impressions in the selected scope. It is not the simple mean of page-level CTRs, and a low value alone does not establish a title problem.

If page A has 10 impressions and two clicks, and B has 90 impressions and three clicks, combined CTR is 5/100, or 5%. Averaging their separate percentages would produce a different result.

Match branded status, intent, country, device, result layout and page scope. Universal rank-based percentages or a two-percent threshold cannot evaluate every site. Search Console also does not expose competitors’ actual CTR.

When relevant impressions hold steady but clicks fall, investigate titles, descriptions and result composition. Make changes after investigating likely causes, and separate search clicks from post-visit behavior.

Does high CTR imply high revenue?

CTR measures search-result clicks. Purchases and enquiries are separate actions; examine intent, page information and actual business records.
