Assisted Conversion

Assisted conversion describes the role of touchpoints before the final interaction. Legacy Universal Analytics assisted-conversion metrics are not identical to current GA4 attribution reports.

Looking only at the final touchpoint can hide earlier research or advertising contacts. Examining assistance helps describe the recorded journey; presence in a path is not proof of incremental impact.

GA4 Attribution paths shows credit assigned to early, mid and late touchpoints. Do not assume the old UA assisted-conversion column or assisted-to-last-click ratio exists unchanged in GA4.

Check the model, dates, key events and missing data. A ratio of one is not a universal boundary for assigning funnel roles or predicting budget effects.

Frequently asked questions

Should a frequently assisting channel always keep its budget?

Path presence and causal contribution differ. Investigate costs, audiences and overlap with other touchpoints, then evaluate actual changes.
