Conversion Path

A conversion path is the sequence of recorded touchpoints before a meaningful action. In GA4, use Attribution paths to inspect journeys and Attribution models for side-by-side model comparisons.

A purchase or enquiry may follow search, advertising and email interactions. The path contains measured touchpoints, not necessarily every interaction the customer experienced.

GA4 Attribution paths reports key events, purchase revenue, days to key events and touchpoints. Distinguish the report date range, selected key events and attribution lookback settings. A universal 14-day or 30-day path window is not an accurate description.

Use recurring paths to decide which channel combinations deserve investigation. Frequency and attributed credit alone do not prove a channel caused the result.

Frequently asked questions

Does a one-touchpoint path mean the customer had only one contact?

It means one touchpoint was recorded under the selected conditions. Consent, identification, time limits or missing measurement may hide others.
