Realtime Report

The real-time report is a report that immediately checks the active users of the last 30 minutes in GA4 and the events, pages, and sources they generate, and is used for tagging verification and campaign response monitoring.

Access from ‘Reports > Real-time’ in the left menu of GA4. This report displays the number of users active within the last 30 minutes in a large format at the top, and below it, each user's most recently generated event, page being visited, traffic source/medium, device type, and location are displayed in card form.

Realtime reports help check event collection after tagging changes and monitor responses when campaigns or social posts are published. When used with Preview mode in GTM, you can verify in real time that a specific event will actually arrive in GA4.

Unlike UA's real-time report, GA4's real-time report displays event parameters on a card basis, and you can also check the real-time event timeline of a specific user by 'viewing user snapshot'.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between real-time reports and DebugView?

The real-time report shows aggregated events from all users currently visiting the site, and DebugView displays event parameters in detail for specific devices that have debug_mode enabled. DebugView is better suited for detailed tagging verification.

What should I check if my Realtime report has no data?

Check the collect request in GTM Preview or the browser developer tools network tab to see if the GA4 tag is loaded properly on the page. If internal traffic filters are applied, it may not appear in real-time reports.
