Helpful Content

Helpful content enables readers to answer a question or make a decision. Since March 2024, Google has assessed helpfulness through multiple core ranking systems, without a public single score or site-wide percentage.

Check whether readers can understand relevant conditions, evidence and limitations, not merely whether a keyword appears. A product comparison can explain why different operating conditions lead to different choices.

Identifying an author or reviewer does not replace accuracy. Provide checkable sources, an honest account of how information was produced and updates when facts change.

AI use alone does not determine quality. Supply needed explanation and verification instead of unchecked repetition at scale. Dwell time or bounce-rate changes cannot reveal Google’s helpfulness assessment.

What percentage of a site must be helpful?

Google publishes no such threshold. Review page purpose and information quality, and address duplication, errors and omissions rather than targeting a ratio.
